FUJITSU AND TOSHIBA IN HANDSET MERGER TALKS
FT reports that Fujitsu and Toshiba are in discussions to merge their mobile-device businesses, according to people familiar with the situation. The companies said no decision has been reached regarding the merger, which would create the second-largest mobile operator in Japan.

VIVACOM IN RESTRUCTURING TALKS
Vivacom’s owners are in discussions with its creditors, in an attempt to restructure its enormous USD1.8-billion debt load. The Bulgarian state still owns a significant stake in the fixed-line telecom operator.
