APPLE DEFENDS ITS FRUIT
Apple’s policy of secrecy and control has been evoking anger from competitors, collaborators and politicians, the latest chapter being the iPhone-maker’s decision to block outside developers from accessing user data. Although Apple could be rightly criticized for its seemingly unwarranted secrecy, it certainly has every right to try to protect its business interests, albeit at the obvious cost of its competition, writes FT in its Lex column.
 
DEUTCHE TELEKOM SPYING PROBE DROPPED
German authorities have decided to drop the charges against Klaus Zumwinkel and Kai-Uwe Ricke, Deutche Telekom’s former Chairman and CEO, of spying on board members and news reporters. Only a few mid-level managers will face charges, reports FT.
