PLAYBOOK TO GO FOR UNDER USD500
RIM confirmed Wednesday that it will launch its “PlayBook” tablet computer for under USD500, first in North America in the first quarter and then globally in the second quarter.

FCC LOOKS AT GOOGLE DATA GATHERING
WSJ writes that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has joined the list of regulators to investigate Google’s information gathering for its Street View service. Google contends that the harvesting of information of personal data over wireless networks was inadvertent. The Federal Trade Commission closed its probe into Street View last month. Google will implement changes to improve its internal privacy and security practices, Alan Eustace, a senior vice president of engineering and research at the company, said.
