RIM TRIES HARDER ON APPS – BLACKBERRY MAKER HOPES NEW TOOLS LURE CUSTOMERS FROM IPHONE, OTHER DEVICES
In an attempt to increase user- and developer-friendliness of the BlackBerry, its maker, Research in Motion, is launching a number of new services to curb the tide of customer defections to app-friendlier devices like the iPhone and those running on Google’s Android operating system. The new services include an advertising service that automatically matches apps with ads served from large mobile-ad networks, and an analytics service that helps developers understand who is using their apps and how.
