ERICSSON: OPERATIONS AGREEMENT WITH 3UK STANDS, DECLINES TO SPECULATE IN FUTURE
Ericsson’s operations agreement with Hutchison 3G UK, operating under the name 3UK, stands as previously stipulated until December 2012 after being tried in court. So says Josephine Edwall Björklund, head of communications within BU Global Services. Edwall Björklund does not wish to speculate on the motive behind Hutchison 3G UK’s wish to begin exiting the contract prematurely, or what plans the operator may have for the future management of its network. The 3 unit, which completed a 400 million-pound network upgrade last week, "gave notice of its intention to terminate" the contract with Stockholm-based Ericsson, according to a judgment on the deal's exit provisions from the Hight Court of Justice. The court, however, ruled in favor of Ericsson and the contract will be kept until original expiring date of Dec 2012.
