RIMA QURESHI: USING THE NETWORK TO BREAK THE SILENCE
Wired runs a 5 pages profile on Rima Qureshi, Head of BCAM, and her task as responsible for Ericsson Response. The piece highlights that not only she is part of the management team of a global company, but that she has a very special mission - to coordinate Ericsson Response, the humanitarian initiative that has, for 10 years, helped to re-established communications to support aid during natural disasters. The article profiles Rima from her childhood, her years in Canada and now her life in Stockholm. It also goes through the different missions that Ericsson Response has held, highlighting the tsunami in South East Asia and the earthquake in Haiti. She also speaks about communications being a basic need, as essential as water and about internet helping people that were traditionally isolated to become a part of the world.
