HUAWEI LOSING SALES IN SWEDEN
DI reports that Huawei, which has recorded revenue-growth in Scandinavia for three consecutive years, experienced declining revenue in 2009. 2009 still was a breakthrough year for Huawei in Nordics with LTE win with TeliaSonera and Net4Mobility (Tele2 and Telenor) but the latter is not yet affected the numbers for 2009. In its 2008 annual report, the company wrote that it expected steady growth, and in its 2009 report, Huawei writes that it expects “steady growth” again. Despite the decline in sales, Huawei’s workforce went from 200 to 250 employees in Sweden.

ELTEL BEATS OUT STATE
Eltel, which is owned by venture capital 3i, has obtained a huge contract with the Swedish Transportation Authority to run its mobile and fiber-optic networks, writes DI.  The SEK300-million contract spans three years with an option for a fourth year. In the bidding, Eltel beat out the state-owned Infranord.
