MOBILE FIRMS SIGN UP TO CARRY SAMSUNG'S GALAXY SMARTPHONE
Verizon Wireless, Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile USA announced Monday that they will all be carrying a version of Samsung's Galaxy S handset. T-Mobile will be the first US operator to get the phone, which will be known as the Vibrant.
MOBILE OPERATOR TO BUY AFFILIATE
WSJ writes that mobile operator FarEasTone will acquire the remaining 73.26 percent stake it doesn't yet own in fixed-line affiliate New Century InfoComm Tech, as it seeks to catch up with larger rivals Chunghwa Telecom and Taiwan Mobile. FarEasTone said its board would spend as much as TWD20.81 billion (USD648.8 million).
