APPLE, NOKIA STEP UP PATENT FIGHT
A new legal suit from Nokia on Friday, alleging Apple’s 3G iPad tablets and iPhone infringe on an additional five Nokia technology patents, has escalated the battle between the two companies, highlighting the focus on the importance of intellectual property rights and the rising stakes in the market for high-end mobile devices, reports WSJ. The infringed patents relate to technologies for transmitting speech and data, the use of positioning data in applications and breakthroughs in antenna configurations.
