AT&T UPS EARLY TERMINATION FEE FOR SMARTPHONES
Following the release of the FCC’s annual wireless competitiveness report, which declared that the industry was not competitive for the first time since 2003, AT&T has decided to raise the termination fee buyers of iPhone and other smartphones pay when breaking their two-year contracts, writes FT and WSJ. US network operators state the fees are needed to help cover costs incurred by subsidies they provide to reduce handset costs.
