VODAFONE STREAMLINING POINTS TO EXIT FROM EGYPT
FT reports that Vodafone may withdraw from Egypt through a sale of its 55 percent controlling stake in Vodafone Egypt in order to streamline its assets and ensure better performance from other existing assets, as growth on the Egyptian market is slowing due to increased competition and the economic slowdown.
 
THE CLOUD AIMS FOR FULL COVERAGE OF LONDON
FT reports that The Cloud, the largest wireless broadband network in Europe which currently operates a series of localized WiFi networks, is considering building a WiFi network that will cover all of London in advance of the Olympic Games in 2012, as WiFi seems to be the only way to accomplish “large-scale data downloading with credibility,” according to Steve Nicholson, The Cloud’s CEO. A potential rollout of the network would occur in 2011.
