SOFTWARE COMPANY ADVANCES UNLISTED
The Swedish company The Astonishing Tribe’s (TAT) navigation software for touch-screen applications made its way to eleven percent of the world’s mobiles last year. TAT was also behind much of the design of the very first Android-based mobile. “Anyone in the industry who doesn’t know who we are has not done their homework,” CEO Charlotta Falvin says. TAT, which had a business volume of SEK160 million last year, is focusing on tailor-made user interfaces to be sold as complete packages marketed to mobile operators selling Android phones under their own brand. Falvin says the 150-person company will likely wait until next year before listing on the stock exchange. TAT is in the process of recruiting 30 new engineers and designers, including former Sony Ericsson employees.
