BUZZ IN THE AIR AS AMX COMES OF AGE

Since it was spun off from Telmex ten years ago, AMX has grown from a small provider into a group with 216.8 million subscribers in 18 countries, placing it among the top four mobile phone providers in the world. This year it expects to generate around USD50 billion in annual sales and USD20 billion in EBITDA. When measured by the company’s more than 290,000-kilometer network, AMX has become the world’s largest telecom provider, writes FT. “In terms of infrastructure, América Móvil has no rival in the world,” Christopher King, an analyst at Stifel Nicolaus & Co. in Baltimore, says.
