SPRINT OFFICIALS LEAVE CLEARWIRE BOARD
Sprint CEO Dan Hesse, Keith Cowan, president of strategy and corporate initiatives, and Steven Elfman, president of network operations and wholesale, resigned from Clearwire's board under pressure Thursday after Clearwire raised concerns about recent developments in antitrust law, according to people familiar with the matter.

AFTER DELAY, NOKIA SHIPS N8 SMARTPHONE

Nokia said Thursday it has started shipping its much-anticipated N8 smartphone, having warned only last week that it would hold shipments to do some final amendments. Nokia said customers who have preordered the phone will be the first to receive it and that market availability will vary by country and operator, with broad availability in coming weeks, writes WSJ. 

MICROSOFT, AT&T TO UNVEIL NEW SMARTPHONES
Microsoft will formally unveil a lineup of smartphones using the revamped version of its mobile operating system on Oct 11, and AT&T will begin offering them four weeks later, according to people familiar with the launch plans.
