It takes two years and two months on average for a patent application to reach completion at the Swedish Patent and Registration office. Companies throughout Europe are now choosing to focus on patents that are deemed more commercially interesting and to weed out those that aren’t, writes DI. Ericsson had the second-highest number of patents applications, 131, during the period of 2007-2009.
