NTT IN DEAL TO BUY DIMENSION DATA
In a deal that would more than double its overseas revenue, NTT has agreed to pay USD3.2 billion to purchase South African IT services provider and Cisco Systems retailer Dimension Data. The deal is the largest acquisition for NTT since its mobile unit invested USD2.7 billion in 2008 for a 26-percent stake in Tata. The Japanese telecom giant has a network of 40 hosted data centers in 31 countries and is looking to move beyond the telecom market and offer cloud computing services, writes FT. “With data centers we can really capitalize on our network assets,”  said NTT CEO Satoshi Miura.
