TOUGH CALLS FOR AT&T’S EMBATTLED CHIEF
AT&T CEO, Randall Stephenson, is facing challenging times, writes FT, as its exclusive right to sell iPhones is expected to end within a year. In the meantime, AT&T customers are displeased with the operator’s network’s inability to handle high traffic volumes, which left them unable to make calls. Furthermore, some investors worry that AT&T is falling behind Verizon, particularly when it comes to LTE technology.

BATTLE TO CONNECT WIRELESS ENERGY METERS
BT, Vodafone and Telefònica are all lining up to compete for contracts to supply mobile networks for the UK’s new generation of electric meters, so-called smart meters. Vodafone already has one major smart-meter deal with Certica, the owner of British Gas.
