TELEFÒNICA RAISES BID FOR VIVO

FT reports that Telefònica increased its offer for Brazilian mobile operator Vivo last night, to EUR 6.5 billion. Portugal Telecom, the potential seller, will hold an extraordinary meeting, to let shareholders vote on the bid. PT’s board has not supported the new offer.
