BT UNION STRIKE STILL ON
FT writes that British Telecom (BT) is still facing the possibility of a major strike, as the Communication Workers Union (CWU) is unwilling to accept BT’s offer of a two-percent pay increase. The strike could cause significant disruptions in service, and it would be the first strike at BT since 1987.
 
TELEFONICA TO SELL ISLE OF MAN TELECOM FOR GBP130 MILLION
FT reports that Telefónica has entered into an agreement to sell its Isle of Man telecom operations to Hg Capital and CPS Partners, which specializes in managing telecom holdings. The deal further underscores Telefónica’s increased focus on more specific markets, such as Brazil.
